Tree characteristics: hardy, spreading, vigorous, strong branches, productive; leaves: mainly elliptic, serrate, underside glabrous, apex cuspidate to mucronate, base obtuse, length : width ratio 1.4, petioles are 3.0 to 3.9 cm long, fall color is mainly bright yellow.
Flower characteristics: odorous, single, medium size, diameter 4.1 cm; pedicel: green; petals: free, long-conic, white; full bloom: mid-May (Frelighsburg, QC).
Fruit characteristics: attractive, small, 1.8 cm diameter, flat-globose, symmetric, ribbed on body; basin: shallow, narrow, calyx is not persistent; cavity: shallow, narrow; stem: very long, thin; skin: smooth, medium thick, waxy, orange-red to dark red with some streaking and a bit of russet in the basin, inconspicuous lenticels; fruits persist until late October in Frelighsburg, QC.
Other characteristics: diseases and pests resistant.
Adaptation & availability: Good for Quebec and Eastern and Central Canada. A limited number of budwood is available from the breeder after signing a non-propagation agreement (only to universities and research stations).
