MACSPUR

Origine: Mervyn Greenslade, Summerland (Colombie-Britannique). Introduite
en 1970. Mutation de la Summerland McIntosh. Fruit: de grosseur moyenne;
peau: rouge cerise brillant, pruinée; chair: blanc verdâtre, modérément ferme, à
texture un peu grossière; saveur: aromatique, douce; qualité: bonne; maturation:
le 17 septembre à Frelighsburg (Québec). Pommier: rustique, vigoureux, à port
dressé, à lambourdes, très compact, très productif annuellement, semi-précoce,
plus difficile à éclaircir que le McIntosh; floraison: hâtive. Maladies et troubles:
très résistante au blanc. Autres caractéristiques: pommier de type McIntosh; fruit
semblable à celui de la Summerland McIntosh, qui est elle-même une mutation
de bourgeon de la McIntosh, à fruit rouge uni.

Whole tree mutation of Summerland McIntosh. Fruit: medium size; skin: brilliant
cherry red, with bloom; flesh: greenish white, moderately firm, somewhat coarse;
flavor: aromatic, mild; quality: good; ripens Sept. 17 (Frelighsburg, QC). Tree:
hardy, vigorous, upright, spur type, very compact growth, very productive annually,
semi-precocious, harder to thin than regular McIntosh; bloom: early. Diseases and
disorders: highly resistant to powdery mildew. Other: McIntosh type; fruit is same
as Summerland McIntosh which is itself a bud mutation of McIntosh producing
solid red fruit.
