Origine: Neal S. Holland, North Dakota State University, Dakota du Nord.
Introduite en 1980. Oldenburg x Starking Delicious. Fruit: très attrayant, moyen à
gros, jusqu’à 76 mm de diamètre, arrondi à oblat; cuvette: assez large, souvent
entourée des cinq pointes caractéristiques de la Starking Delicious; peau: lavée de
rouge foncé à maturité, pruinée; chair: jaune verdâtre, juteuse, moyennement ferme,
croquante, à texture légèrement grossière; saveur: sub-acide, légèrement parfumée,
très sucrée, douce, rappelant la Delicious; qualité: passable à bonne; utilisation
finale: desserts, cuisine, consommation en frais; maturation: fin août à Fargo (Dakota
du Nord). Pommier: rustique, semi-nain, haut de 7 à 10 pi, large de 15 pi, commençant
tôt à produire (à 3 ou 4 ans), produisant chaque année; floraison: mi-saison. Maladies et
troubles: exempte de brûlure bactérienne.

Delicious. Fruit: striking, medium to large, up to 76 mm diameter, round to round oblate; basin: quite broad, has a tendency
to have the five points typical of Starking Delicious; skin: dark red flush at maturity, with bloom; flesh: greenish yellow,
juicy, medium firm, crisp, slightly coarse; flavor: subacid, some perfume, very sweet, mild, recalls Delicious; quality: fair to
good; end use: dessert, cooking, fresh eating; ripens late August at Fargo (North
Dakota). Tree: hardy, semi-dwarf, 7-10 feet tall with a 15 foot spread, bears early (at 3
or 4 years), produces annually; bloom: mid-season. Diseases and disorders: free of
fireblight.
